Talk Title: Career Insights at AMD: Software Development and High-Performance Computing
Talk Overview: Dr. Damon McDougall will talk about what it’s like to work at AMD and opportunities that are available to PhD students and beyond. The talk will focus on high performance computing.
Speaker: Damon McDougall did a PhD in Mathematics at the University of Warwick in 2012, before pursuing a postdoc and research positions at the Oden Institute at UT Austin. Damon started working at AMD in 2018 and is currently a member of the Frontier Center for Excellence. His research interests are in high-performance computing, scientific software development, statistical computing, numerical PDEs.
