Talk Title: Make a Difference: Careers at Sandia National Laboratories
Talk Overview: Teresa Portone will present an information session including a brief overview of Sandia National Labs’ mission, R&D areas, and opportunities in computational mathematics, science, and engineering. Staff and project profiles will demonstrate the ways you can contribute to high-impact, challenging problems in the national interest through computational math and science R&D, software/hardware development, and through working in interdisciplinary teams on engineering applications. SNL is hiring at all degree levels and has postings for internships, postdoctoral appointees, and staff positions. Speaker Bio: Teresa Portone is a senior member of technical staff in the optimization and uncertainty quantification department at Sandia National Laboratories, where she has worked since January 2020. She received her PhD from the Computational Science, Engineering and Mathematics degree program at the University of Texas at Austin. She develops and deploys uncertainty quantification methods for a range of application problems in the national interest.
